Fire trucks and emergency vehicles surrounded the LHS Pool?
Pool Fire?
Emergency?
Doesn't look like an emergency.
Well it was actually the Fire Department trying out their new water rescue equipment.
While many Lakewoodites are aware of the river, and the hazards, but most Lakewoodites
forget we have two-and-a-half miles of rugged coastline to serve and protect.
Scuba equipment, cold water suits, underwater communication devices.

Here they practice floating in cold water suits while reading upside down blackboards.
2012 was a great year for the Fire Department, New truck, new boat, new radios, and
now scuba equipment.
Good work Fire Chief Gilman, who got it at such a good rate we could afford it!
