Criminal Contractors Knocking On Lakewood Doors

Over the past week, City Hall has sent out the following emails:

Subject: FW: criminal contractor knocking on doors on [redacted]
I just wanted to alert you to the fact that a man named [redacted] was knocking on doors in our neighborhood on [redacted]. It was a few weeks ago, about a week after the big storm. He tried to talk us into getting a new roof for our home. He pressured us to sign papers for a loan, which we did not do. [redacted]
I thought you might want to know. He keeps calling our house and we don't answer. I'm worried some people in Lakewood may be taken in by his swindle.

Another scam at work. All contractors working in Lakewood Must be licensed and have the license with them. Please be sure you don't leave Christmas purchase in your car overnight.

I own the home at [redacted]. My renters contacted me today to say that an exterminator came by and wanted to be let in, saying that I had hired him. I have certainly not hired an exterminator, and would have let them know if any service people needed access to their unit. Luckily, they said they were not aware of me calling an exterminator, and did not let him in.
I wanted you to be aware as I am not sure if this is someone who was specifically watching my house, or an ongoing scam in the neighborhood.
