Lakewood Observer, Volume 08, Issue 24

In this issue Mayor Tom George investigates and reports on one of my favorite Lakewood
stories of all time, "The Tranquillo Incident," as it was reported in a book called Cleveland
Crime which has been out of print and offline for years. It is a great story about Lakewood,
the roaring twenties, and are real place during those years immediately before Elliot Ness
moved here after sending Al Capone to prison.

Also a host of great things to do in the coming weeks, including a pull out Light Up Lakewood
Guide produced in cooperation with our friends over at LakewoodAlive. Ken Brand did such
a great job with Melt Down and Spooky Pooch, I can't wait to see where this is headed.

Pick up a copy today and see what the Lakewoodites think of "The Tree Task Force" it will
make you chuckle!

This is one of my favorite times of year in Lakewood. Light snow, crisp weather, holiday
lights, and music. Get out and enjoy the city, check it out. Everything looks better with
a light coating of snow on it!

A special thanks to David Stein and the ribbon committee. Those red ribbons always make
Lakewood seem more festive.

HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY SEASON!

But do not forget those in need, or those that seem to really stress out during the holidays.
Together, we can all get through this with a smile, and a good time.

Reach out, lend a hand, lend an ear, lend some time, give till it hurts.
