Storm damage leads to interesting find

Post by Jeff Dreger »

I found this while cleaning up the mess in my attic from Sandy's roof removal. Actually in pretty good shape for 95yrs in an attic. Would the historical society or anyone else be interested in something like this? Not sure it'll last much longer, especially with handling, but I don't have a strong interest in keeping it if someone else could use it. Maybe I'll find more little 'treasures' as I keep at it.

Jeff, the Lakewood Alumni Foundation is the official archivist for the Lakewood City Schools and stores the district's historical documents and memorabilia. You can reach the Foundation at 529-4033. Neat piece!

Found a few more interesting items. Most are too fragile and/or faded to share but here's a 1916 graded spelling test from Lincoln (where my girls go presently). And sorry about the supersized image... hope this one is resized better.

And now I just found an old shoe with what I think is "Goodyear" on the bottom.

Jeff

Had it been from two years later it might have had Linda Beebe's name on it!

Just kidding.
