Went down to the Cleveland Air Show for a couple hours, and took some pictures. A bit hazy
but the sounds, and visuals were still good. Here are a couple.

Blue angels ready to go.

A low altitude, high speed pass.

Ever wonder what the Blue Angel pilots are saying, here is a link to an audio file I recorded a few years back of cockpit to cockpit communications.

About 15 minutes ago my husband just asked "What is that noise?"...
A few years ago when a fighter jet flew overhead ~ I think it was for the Browns game, can't remember ~ I swear it felt like my house was about to fall apart--it was so loud and rattled the windows so hard.

It always makes me think when watching the military part of the airshow, just ho bad it must be to live in a
place where these war machines are flown in anger and loaded for bear. We get to see them flying at only a
small fraction of the speed they can fly at. Possibly as little as 25% of the speed they can operate at and it is
downright scary what they can do and at what speed.

On the flip side is the technology. Planes without welds, soon without metal. Flying faster than the pilot can
tolerate without G-suits.
I do love watching them perform, but then we are lucky.

Great audio, unbelievably laid back and so matter of fact. I listened to it before heading down. It was in my head.

I have a subcult air show deal. I have weird sleeping hours. So, I'm up at around 3 AM. After every air show, the following very early Tuesday morning, lots of the aircraft depart. So, you hear ear splitting roars at those early hours as those behemoths are climbing at full throttle out of Burke as they head for their next destination.
Jim's pics are great but the audio is enough to impress.

Jim thank you for the great pictures as always. Frankie is in awe of them. The Blue Angels are his favorite and I think I am going out to buy a model for him to build.

After a great Labor Day Weekend I ended up with about 100 photos from the air show.

What goes up comes down.

Standing still, I got it!
