Actually, it WAS rather special at that.

Four Lakewood Churches (Lakewood Baptist, Cross Point, Lakewood Christian, and Lakewood Methodist) provided live music to an enthusiastic crowd of around 200 people. The bands played from the northern deck of the Women's pavilion facing the lake, while people sat in the shady area around the pavilion listening and enjoying watermelon and fellowship. The music was eclectic, and the groups were well-rehearsed, ranging from beautiful selections by the Lakewood Christian Church choir, to a fine barbershop quartet, to ultra modern rock-type faith selections by the other different church bands. Lakewood Methodist's powerful IMPACT band concluded a beautiful evening's gathering. All in attendance were looking forward to another get-together next year, hopefully at the band shell and featuring even more praise bands.

It was a very nice evening indeed.

Back to the banjo. (I was happy to leave it in the car this evening and let others demonstrate their musical gifts)
