Paul Ryan was brought in by the Romney campaign so that at least one person on the ticket would know which side of the issues they were standing on.

Unless Barack Obama is suddenly switching political parties, I think I was talking about the Republican ticket absent any discussion of the Democrats.
I still have no idea what Mitt Romney stands for, at least I know what Paul Ryan stands for. So I think that will help the Romney campaign.
