Fireworks!

Hi all,
For those of you who were disappointed (or whose kids were disappointed) that Lakewood couldn't get it together to make sure we had fireworks on the 4th of July-- ( I still think our $28,000 dollar refund should be spent on fireworks for the community-- maybe a smaller one, maybe after the "Melt Down" next week. Our Lakewood Police are already being paid to work at that, right? (If not I think the $$ should be spent re-opening Kauffman and Madison after dusk so the stars could be our fireworks all summer long)) there is a huge fireworks display in Fairview Park this weekend, as part of their Summer Fest days.
From 9pm to 11pm tomorrow (Saturday) night, join our neighbors to the Southwest for their
20th Anniversary SummerFest FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR
Rain Date: Sunday at Dusk
Parking is available all weekend in the Westgate Parking Lot and
In the Lutheran West parking lot off Linden Road

8:30 AM - 11:30 AM Pancake Breakfast at the Pavilion, sponsored by the Fairview Park Junior Women’s Club. Tickets are $6 for Adults; $7 for blueberry pancakes; $3 for Children ages 3-12; and children 2 and under eat free with paid adult
9:00 AM - 2:30 PM 4th Annual Dick Nicoloff Memorial Car Show –at Bohlken Park, West 210 Street Parking Lot
11:00 AM Cookie Bake-Off at SummerFest Tent
11:30 - 2:00 PM “Dance, Dance, Dance” presented by the Studio of Dance at the stage

NOON - 4:00 PM Fairview Park Green Team – Rain Barrel Demonstration at 2:00 PM at the SummerFest Tent

3:00 – 3:30 PM Texting While Driving – (Pop Punk Teen Band) at the stage
3:00 - 4:30 PM Senior Bingo – sponsored by the Senior Life Office at the Pavilion – Two cards for $1.00
4:00 – 5:00 PM Illegal Kind of Band – (Pop Punk Teen Band) at the stage
5:00 PM - ? Homemade Spaghetti Dinner – Sponsored by the PTA Council at the Pavilion. Ticket prices are Adults $5; Children ages 8 and younger $3.00; Children ages 3 and under eat FREE with a paid adult
