Another great 90 degree parade

Post by Betsy Voinovich »

Yes, recovered enough to type--- another great parade, with what seemed like the entire town either in the parade or along the parade route. I'm very happy to have marched with the Lakewood Observer crew at the END of the parade where it was okay if we kind of trailed off on occasion into the shade. If we got too far behind we just had to catch up with LEAF goddess and Kauffman Park advocate Jaime Bouvier who was high above us on stilts, trailing leaves, leading the way.

Now for lemonade and shade and resting up for more events to come...

Longtime parade veterans, Connie and Jay, finally get a chance to rest in the car after handing out bagfuls of candy, fliers, and newspapers. A great though sweaty time was had by all.

Betsy

Heat Index of 104 degrees! Thank for all the hard work!

I just finished editing 200 photos Deb took of the people watching the parade. Letting you
see what and why we do it. This year was very special as the number of people coming up
to me and Deb offering support and kind words were overwhelming.

Thank you all.

Here is a peak of what will be online tomorrow morning...

It was great event as always......it was fun to see so many friends and neighbors.
The parade is my favorite Lakewood event each year....a nice piece of Americana and community.
Charlie (my pooch) and I enjoyed walking with the Dog Park, LOBC and the Observer.
Charlie loves all the attention he gets.....he is convinced that the parade is held in his honor.

Hi Grace,

Thanks. One's mine, the other one is her buddy. They were pretty thrilled with the whole thing.
