My photos and videos (a little later!) of the tear down of the Detroit Theater. The Detroit Theater
was sold to McDonald's, These are some of the last photos inside where we had cameras
and outside where we had videographers and photographers. Some nice videos from the front
of the crane, and stuck inside the theater during early destruction.

All together 250 photos and at least 5 videos.

I find it interesting (almost telling) that the last two flicks to play here were remakes ... "The Green Hornet" being a film based on a character originated in a 1930s radio program; while the original "True Grit" starred starred John Wayne in the late 1960's.

Now, this parcel of land is remade into a fast-food joint.

See the largest structure between Rosewood and Larchmont, if you do not count the church across
the street come down with a bang!

Hmmm.... so I was reading something interesting this week.

A few months ago a Reader's Digest somehow landed in my mailbox. I did not order it, subscribe to it, but it was addressed to me. Perhaps this was from my brother-in-law selling magazines (long story... ) perhaps not.

Either way, yes, I'm only in my mid-thirties and I'll read just about anything....okay stop laughing, no seriously, STOP LAUGHING!! So anyway...

Interesting story in the latest one, about an old theatre named The Davis Theatre in Higginsville, Missouri. Evidently it is destined for the same result, but their citizens are fighting hard and are raising the money to preserve it, convert it to digital, and keep it alive.

I just found it hopeful for them, and yes ~ sad for us ~ and thought I'd share:
