Yesterday I was watching as Bryce Silvester from Lakewood City Hall's Building Department.
And Ian Andrews Director of LakewoodAlive took the new Lakewood Summer Interns for a
tour of Downtown Lakewood!

These interns will be shared by the City of Lakewood and LakewoodAlive proving once again
just how autonomous both groups are from each other. This is a great way to get some free
errr quality young help to do all the little things, Bryce and Ian do not want to do themselves,
errrr share this opportunity for education and growth with college kids.

What I was imagining...

"Well Bryce let me explain the history of Civic Center Park," said Ian, "After all I have a much
deeper understanding of the community as I was here nearly 4 weeks before you got here.
Civic Center was the first "civic center" between New York and Los Angles or maybe that is
Chicago, and the first one, that actually was in downtown." Bryce then adds, "Never call
this anything but Civic Center Park, especially if Ed FitzGerald is around. If it is just you
and the Mayor you can say Sinagra Park, but Ed, the person we all answer to gets furious
when it is labeled that of the most successful mayor in Lakewood History. Almost 16 years
of quality service, until that nasty thing happened. Ed who only had 6 months in office before
running to get out of Lakewood, hates that 15 year number so he changed the name."

"And that idiot in the car taking pictures, NEVER TALK TO HIM, and always move enough
to blur any photo he is taking. He will publish it and make up the stuff he thinks you are
saying and do other stuff we would rather not tell you about now in the middle of your
history lesson."

Seriously, great to see young people coming to the coolest city on the northcoast.
