Library Amnesty Ends Tomorrow!

So if your family is like my family and you've had an action-packed Spring break and were planning to get up there with your can of food, tonight's the night, or tomorrow if you want to start fresh with the library.
The deal is if you bring a can of food, your fines will be wiped clean! Like the old days of the dog bones. The library would really like to get any books or CDs that people have been avoiding returning because of fines too.
What a great way to celebrate National Library Week. Being able to take out books again!

Here's the scoop from the paper:
Lakewood Public Library Amnesty April 10 To April 14 Food For Fines Clear Your Card And Come Back To The Library
by Leana Donofrio-Milovan
To celebrate National Library Week, the Lakewood Public Library is offering its first amnesty programs since the 90s. Between April 10 and April 14, everyone is invited to come back to the Library and clear their account of late fees without spending a dime.
First, old late fees can be cleared with the donation of a non-perishable item. Just bring the item to the front desk of the Main Library or the Madison Branch and all your late fees will be forgiven. All donations will go to the Lakewood Community Service Center.
Second, long overdue books, magazines, CDs, DVDs and videos can be returned during the week without incurring a fine. Why let our items collect dust on your shelves? Set them free! Amnesty Week applies only to late fees not bills for lost or unreturned items.
Lakewood Public Library Main Branch is located at 15425 Detroit Avenue and the Madison Branch is located at 13329 Madison Avenue. Visit http://www.lakewoodpubliclibrary.org for more information or call (216) 228-7428.
