A New Mahalls

I was pleasantly surprised to find new owners at Mahalls Bowling, our first choice for vintage and walking-distance bowling! I was sad to see the old owner gone as I know it was in his family for generations but know he wanted to move on. I used to think of the possiblities that place could hold and was happy to see two young couples had that vision!

While taking down the wallpaper in the kitchen they discovered some very cool wallpaper they decided to leave up and have furnished the restaurant with some cool items. The menu is not up yet but they were serving burgers, fresh fries, feta spread with pita, amazing homemade pretzels, beets (!), coconut soup--at a bowling alley!!

They are finishing a stage for bands which will be weekly so I am excited for this "new" business!

The fish fry is excellent. Fresh walleye with fries and a small salad for $12. I ordered the beets with honey and walnuts for an extra $2. There were quite tasty.

Last Friday a Jazz band was playing in the lounge. They started at 6 and played until 8. Great music well played.
