We are not talking about a national ID card. We are not talking about a government-controlled system. What we are talking about is enhancing online security and privacy, and reducing and perhaps even eliminating the need to memorize a dozen passwords, through creation and use of more trusted digital identities," Commerce Secretary Gary Locke said at an event Friday at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, according to CNET.com.

And retailers now must ask for identification from those buying drain cleaners and maintain extensive records of which caustic products have been purchased, in what amounts, and by whom.

I am 100% against allowing the internet to vote.
no matter how much sentience it achieves.

the illinois law only applies to industrial grade drain cleaner.

in the old days, you could walk into any old timey hardware store and buy some dynamite. exceptions being local ordinances regulating such things.

if it makes you feel better, illinois passed a new law allowing motorists to stop and pick up any roadkill they find. raccoons, possums, deer. this means there was previously a law forbidding such activities.
