http://media.lakewoodobserver.com/issue_pdfs/Observer_Vol_07_Issue_24.pdfI want to thank my crew, even with my recent accident and injury we continue to grow, and serve the community we grew up in, and we do business in.Here we are deep into the "holiday season." Yet for many it is the beginning of one of the worst times of the years. Loneliness, poverty, illness, and just tough times can make this season a nightmare. I am sure we all know at least one person or family who will not be as happy this year as last. I am sure we all know people who deserve a chance to enjoy this holiday, as much as they used to or could.
This year please, if you have any excess, give to those charities that provide support, nourishment, education, and hope to those in need or down on their luck. Trish Rooney, director of Lakewood Community Services Center reports that requests for help and food have once again gone up, and they are an excellent choice for a check, donation or some volunteering.
There are programs for children, for seniors, and of course, programs like All Dog's Heaven for our furry friends. Instead of going overboard on what will no doubt already be a grand holiday for you, share what you can, nothing more, with those in need.
This season give the gift of Love, and Respect to those who need it most.

Just out of curiosity, why was the title of my article changed again? I mean, its a good title, and I normally don't have a problem with the new titles, although it comes across like I think the Mayor is being miss-treated. I'm not saying whether I agree with that or not. The point of my article is supposed to be non-biased and i don't feel this title is. If it was an opinion piece on the hens then I think it is an excellent title, just not for my article.

It was changed during production and during production headlines as well of copy is often changed to read better, be grammatically more correct, and even for space and content on rare occasions. When your story was moved from page 4 to the front page we thought a more
catchy headline would be in order.
While you are saying it seems to be against the mayor I read it just the opposite way in
so much the mayor was completely within his rights, and it was only a revolt in the
"hen house" so to speak which derailed it.
As you said it is a good headline, just not right for you.
Noted and will be relayed to staff.
Thanks for taking part.
