Winchester Music Hall Rocks this Friday

“Night at The Winchester” – Friday, September 23, 6:30 to 11pm at The Winchester Music Hall, 12112 Madison Ave. in Lakewood.
If you ask me, this event just might be mostly an excuse to rally any kind of Lakewood resident from every generation together who has a shared interest in the state of Lakewood City Schools. But of course, the reason why this event was put together by a few of your fellow residents, including me, was to raise a little bit of money to help the Kristine Pagsuyoin for Lakewood Schools Campaign. Thanks to Kristine for taking the risk in letting a few of us take charge of this event. This is what we have lined up.
First of all, the venue - The Winchester has been voted the #1 Fox 8 Live Music Venue in Cleveland. Lakewood residents, John & Rebecca Mileti, own and run the music hall themselves. If you’ve seen a show here you know the caliber of the mostly local and national performers that put on shows here. And the rest of you just have to check this place out for yourselves! You can check out their website (also on Twitter & Facebook) for current schedules http://www.thewinchester.net/. Plenty of comfortable seating and at comfortable cover charge prices. Did you know their music hall space (located behind the lounge) used to be a bowling alley back in the day?
Good local conversation with fellow residents and with Kristine Pagsuyoin who is running for the school board election in November - Even if you don’t want to stay for food or the show that starts in the music hall you can visit with Kristine and the rest of us in the front lounge at no cost. Cash bar.
Ethnic foods from Madison Ave. area restaurants - Rare chance to try signature foods from:
Thai Kitchen, 12210 Madison Ave., http://www.thaikitchencleveland.com - Thai Crispy Spring Rolls, Thai Todmun (fish cake patties), Chicken Satay, Fried Rice
Barroco Grill (Columbian), 12906 Madison Ave., http://www.barrocogrill.com – Empanadas, Coca-cola Rice
Angelo’s (Italian), 13715 Madison Ave. http://angelosonline.com/ – Meatballs, spinach & Artichoke dip, Pizza Pies
Khiem's Vietnamese, 13735 Madison Ave. – Cha Gio (egg roll with pork)
Greek Village, 14019 Madison Ave., http://www.greekvillagegrille.com -
Tommy's Pastries (Hungarian), 14205 Madison Ave. – cookies and pastries
La Plaza Supermarket (Hispanic), 13609 Lakewood Heights Blvd. – Their own Guacamole and chips
Performances from Lakewood musicians begin at 8 pm -
Tracy Marie (pop, rock and blues, singer/guitarist)
Shadow of Doubt, Tom Petty Tribute Band;
John Tamilio III (singer/songwriter/guitarist).
Cover charge includes music show and food. Cash bar. Tickets available night of event or online at http://pagsuyoinforlakewoodschools.com/
Individual $10; Household $25; and Super Supporter $50.
Additional raffles include: Chinese raffle & Nook e-ink Reader
This event is family friendly.
I hope to see many of you there. - Mel
