From CNN: More Americans fell below the poverty line last year, according to U.S. Census Bureau data released Tuesday. The nation's poverty rate rose to 15.1% in 2010, up from 14.3% in 2009 and to its highest level since 1993. Last year marked the third year in a row the rate increased. All told, 46.2 million people are considered in need. In addition, real median household income last year was $49,445, a 2.3% decline, the Census Bureau reported.

"Hope" and "Change" were never defined by the campaign, leaving everything up to the interpretation of the people. As we learned from subsequent sound bites, some people thought that Obama would 'pay off my mortgage and put gas in my car'.


While others though they just be handed money..."Obama money"


I, for one, have been saying that when he said "Change" we were being told how much money we'd have left in our pockets...nothing but change. Some of us are lucky to have that.

i do not recall Obama and Biden mentioning putting gas in peoples cars or paying off their mortgages during their campaign for presidency.

it would be nice if everyone campaigned by emphasizing the stupidest nastiest supporters of their opponents. you don't have to worry about getting anything done that way.
