Good afternoon Lakewood:

Just a reminder that Lakewood's fabulous Hometown Band will be at Lakewood Park this evening starting at 7 p.m. These represent some of Cleveland's finest professional musicians dong what they do best, for the appreciative crowd that is Lakewood!

During the second part of the performance, we will debut the AMERICAN VETERANS LAST SALUTE MARCH, written by Robert Rice and myself. As many of you know, Dad is a WWII vet, going on 92 years young. He was in the Army band from before Pearl Harbor until after WWII concluded. He played trumpet, arranged, composed, and entertained as a comedian for our service men and women, and for the home front. He was a beloved Lakewood Schools band director for 25 years as well, and tonight, he will again take the podium to direct this march dedicated to America's veterans.

I will also accompany the march on a Civil War type drum.

Dad and I have collaborated on the creation of full band marches for Lakewood High, St. Edward, Lakewood Catholic Academy, and for Garfield School. Long ago, Dad created a march for his Harding School. We have also completed an original march for the All Ohio State Fair Band.

It will be our pleasure to introduce the AMERICAN VETERANS LAST SALUTE MARCH to the citizens and veterans of Lakewood this evening.

Here are the details for this evening:

Thanks for coming everyone!

The event really turned out wonderfully, with a nice sized, and very appreciative crowd. The weather? It turned out to truly be the most beautiful evening that I've yet experienced this summer. The band, as always, was first rate, and Dad had a great time directing the march.

A warm thanks again to all who support the efforts of the Lakewood Hometown Band!
