drive thru taxation

All right, I just tried to post a reasoned proposal for taxing in one form or another drive thru transactions and I am in no mood to recreate it. Seems to have been lost in the submit process. Never the less all my reasons for and against a tax or per transaction surcharge will I am sure be resurrected in the comments. I don't know if it is a legal possibility under the revised code. I don't even know if I support my own idea. Social costs and benefits have been invoked to tax businesses and individuals at an increasingly rapid pace. For example, tobacco taxes (social cost), sales tax for stadia and convention promotion(social benefit). I did not address what any revenue would be best used for. I would like to hear others on the topic. I believe it could generate some useful income that could be dedicated to quality of life efforts in Lakewood, whatever people feel those might be. That might be for another day. Let the ideologies begin!

Why worry about social issue of it. Do it.

You want access to our 50,000+ grazzers, at the cost of neighborhoods, traffic, crime...
You pay a little more. Seems fair enough. Maybe the house next to the place making $0.05
off of each order might be a little happier?

$.25 an order under $10, and $0.50 over $10.

If they really want to some... If not give them a break on Highland or Berea Road.
