At 11:20 pm a 54 year-old male crossing the track at Belle got hit by a train heading west. The train stopped by the time it got to Gladys, and was blocking the streets
between Cook and Fry.

The man, who claimed to the first person to respond, declared, "I am alive." and was
transported to Fairview General Hospital alive.

Val

I could be wrong about this, and I often am. But getting hit by a train, is like getting hit by a sailboat, or
ore boat, you are always cited.

I was hit by a train in the 70s, and even with the flashers not working on my side of the tracks, bushes
blocking the tracks, and no whistle. I was cited with failure to yield. Trains, ore boats and sailboats
simply cannot stop.

The first responder also told me the man mentioned he had 3 or 4 drinks, when he assured her she was alive
as she took his pulse.

FWIW

Man if you got your car hit by a sailboat, that's would be quite a story :)
