I know that this was posted in another section, but it really also deserves mention here in the schools section as well...
I agree Ed.
The Spring Fling is one of so many of Lakewood's exceptional activities; this one being coordinated between outstanding groups like H20, (Lakewood youth's Help to Others program), Lakewood's Office on Aging, and the Lakewood Schools. (particularly the high school's Culinary Arts program and Garfield school's hosting involvement, and too, the jazz bands of the high school, as well as the choirs of Garfield, and the Garfield jazz band)
It's one of those events that Dad and I are honored to support as Lakewood volunteers.
Excellent food and music too! What an afternoon!
If there's one feature of Lakewood that has impressed my family since moving to this city more than 50 years ago, it has been the extent of community involvement that so MANY of our citizens are engaged in. With the fine Kiwanis service organization here, the CERT team, along with quite literally hundreds of active year-to-year community volunteers involved with everything from meals-on-wheels to the many excellent service aspects of Lakewood's Office on Aging, (along with so many other church and fraternal groups young and old, doing so many good things) this city has always been well-positioned to serve others.
Lakewood is a remarkable place indeed.
Back to the banjo...
