Mary Anne Crampton To Step Down

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

I this week's email blast from LakewoodAlive was mention that Mary Anne Crampton
would be stepping down from the position of director of LakewoodAlive.

While I do not always agree with Mary Anne, and some of the aspects of LakewoodAlive
she and they have been a powerful force in this community. Mary Anne and I first met
I am thinking over ten years ago, of course on the opposite sides of an issue of economic
development in Lakewood. Since that time I have enjoyed many a fine lunch and
good conversations about what she is doing, and what she sees as the future of
Lakewood. Again while we do not always agree, I think we both realize we are working
and pushing for what we see as positive movement for the city of Lakewood.

Mary Anne is what I call a warrior, and a damn good one. She is a strong and very articulate
advocate for what she believes, and that is never a bad thing. I do hope she finds rest and
fulfillment in whatever she decides to do, and I am sure she will. I would like to thank her
for her time and her tremendous efforts for Lakewood, the Library and the schools. And do
hope you continue to stay and volunteer in Lakewood.
