While perhaps getting slightly better, early and late trash set-outs are still a problem in Lakewood. The problem of cans being left on tree lawns for days and days after garbage day is even more of a problem.

If a residence (or business) in your neighborhood is putting garbage out early or is not removing their cans from the curb after garbage day, please feel free to get the address and contact these entities, inform them of the issue, and request that the person be billed/invoiced:

It's winter ... that's the only reason it's "better."

I suppose I jinxed myself when I said it was getting better. I drove for less than five minutes up three streets today and found five early trash set-outs. That is five early trash set-outs, in less than 1/3 of a square mile, in less than five minutes, on three streets.

I am sick and tired of the administration of Mayor/Public Safety Director Michael P. Summers not enforcing laws. It's not like trash laws are the only laws that are not being enforced.

The problem is very few of these residences are being fined. Lakewood Codified Ordinance allows for a fine of $100 per offense to be assessed for each violation.

That place is always a problem, especially with leaving their cans on the sidewalk all weekend when their garbage day is Thursday.

At least one of those cans (maybe even all of them) actually belong to the TNT Group, which is a business in the units above Namaste. I can't find anything about this TNT Group or what they actually do. The owner of it lives in Rocky River.

These are early trash-outs spotted in Lakewood over the new year's holiday.

How do you count your days early Lori? Sometimes you write 6 days early - I think that means the night after the day of collection, right? Cause you are supposed to have it out "1 day" early (after 5 the day before). So that isn't early, it's on time. Just wondering.

I put my christmas tree out the night before collection last week and they left it there. I didn't go out there and drag it to the side of my house. I was looking for my tree lawn on your video. Hopefully they will see fit to take it this week, maybe they just didn't notice it or something, a simple mistake.

Say your garbage day is Friday. If it is out Saturday, that is technically six days early.

Christmas tree collection is done by the Division of Streets & Forestry and there is no set time of when it must be out. The crews go up and down streets at seemingly random times to collect them. They are pretty good and shouldn't be more than a couple days.

Wow! This video came fast. There is just too much garbage out there.

I will say that the garbage people have really been, quite frankly, busting their butts trying to get it picked up, but they just can't keep up. I believe it is time for some heavy fines to go out and for the mayor and council to start doing their fair share of monitoring this situation.

Lori nothing has been done, nothing has changed, nothing is going to change, we have been complaining about this for years. What do we have to do, as citizens, to have our concerns address? Can anyone answer this question? WHAT CAN WE DO? Our complaints go UNADRESSED. It's like the Dakota pipe line, no one cares. I would work for free, as I drive around the neighborhood, and photograph the violators. But if nothing is done, it is a waste of my time.
