Well....

Before I get back to all that banjo pickin', perhaps it would be well for all of us to observe a moment of silent reflection....

Just think....

After tomorrow, all of us will suddenly look around, and the political fighting will be history..for now.

No more Cain/George/Fitzgerald/Demro polemical discussions...

No more West End discussions...

Remember those?

Fond memories all...

No More McCain/Obama/Palin/Biden (or reverse the order, if you wish) polemical discussions...

No more discussions of other elections. (I think there were far too few of those discussions...)

No more casino discussions...for awhile...

Nothing to do, but listen to the banjo play... :D

What? Waxing nostalgic already? Don't worry. The next election season will be here before you know it! :D

PLEASE VOTE!

This calls for a party.

Now that we won't have politics to talk about, we need a new subject.

From my perspective there were a handful of high schoolers.. mostly the ten or so from the Young Republicans Club from LHS.

It was a nice event for Lakewood.

Lakewood has had a great year on the national stage, and this
certainly added to it.

Thanks to all involved.

After all, I think....

Because of the Lakewood experience, fall colors, crisp air, breeze
off the lake I think me might soon be looking at another little
Palin in about nine months.

Well, it's just about bedtime on the night before elections...

...and, as stormy skies and whipping rains enveloped the North Coast....

...along the walkway, by the now vacant Lakewood Bandshell...

...where other rains and winds brought sad and unfortunate tragedy in the summer of 1969...

...and where Lakewood's Skie and Haze bands valliantly battled to a draw in 1970....

...where so many events happened in the history of Lakewood. Where Gene Krupa once played his drums, and Sarah Palin spoke today...

There, in the deepening shadows of evening, came the smallest ray of sunlight through the darkening timbers. There they were...the little squirrels and chipmunks... foraging for their dinner.

Searching...for acorns, no doubt...among the fallen leaves....

I want ot say something so all can read it, I said it in a pm and I am not afraid to say it on the deck.

I am not negative about this event. I expected more people to show up. I do think that Lakewood was probably not the best place for this venue but it got us on the national stage so that is good. I am being truthful about it not being well attended and sorry if some unnamed people think that means I am negative. I just expected more people. Sorry that some people are angry with me for speaking my mind, I guess I should shut up and go back to the kitchen. Shame on me for owning my words.

Dannielle whoever tried to silence you had no right to do that.

You say what you have to say and don't let anyone ever tell you that you can't.

I'll stand beside you and anyone else who feels they have something to say. I don't have to agree with the person, like some.

Shame on whoever made you feel that way.

That truly makes me very sad for the caliber of people here. This should never happen anywhere.

No more.

I'm done Jim. I have said my piece. Whether or not I was there really has no relevance on the comments I made. I made an observation, I spoke my mind, this is what the deck is for. I do have the right to my opinion and I don't think because I disagree with someone makes me negative.

I am done, no more.
