WARNING, SARCASTIC CONTENT !!! WARNING, SARCASTIC CONTENT
A Super Large Obama sign in all the windows of a PRIVATE BUSSINESS. I love it.

Kudos to you wife. That is how everybody should roll.
as long as that bussiness doesn't make more than $250,000 a year, because then you would lose 36% of the sign.

I think removing the LO sign is the right thing to do. I drove by the window a couple weeks ago and immediately thought LO was endorsing Obama. One window's right next to each other. People in Lakewood, aside from the tight little community reading this space, have no idea who's window is who's. Looks to me like LO owns both spaces. No personal attacks here, just someone who's a close observer of communication. Take down the LO sign and your wife can put LeBron-esque Witness banners featuring Obama if she wants. No one's calling out the KGB to rip away freedom of speech. This is a real tempest in a teapot.

I'm a little surprised you wouldn't comprehend the visual association people would make, and move more quickly to defend the brand.

One more whack at this dead horse from every conceivable angle:

Would not people totally unaware of where the LO office is suspect that a business with an LO and Obama sign were supporting both?

Would not people who know the exact location of the LO office (building, floor and all) and saw an LO and Obama sign in the business directly above the LO believe that business supports both?

Or is it only people who kinda know the general vicinity of where the LO office might be located that are questioning the allegiance?

If I had retail space on Detroit and I put the same LO sign in the window, would people think that’s where the LO office is?

Last one, if there was an Obama office in Lakewood and they put up an LO sign, would they be viewed as supporting the LO? Granted, if there was an Obama office I bet their Obama sign would be considerably larger than 8.5 X 11.

Jim – I’ve been through a few airports when I used to travel weekly (CLE, O’Hare, Midway, Charlotte, Orlando, Montreal, Austin, Houston, San Diego, Nashville, etc). Very few times have I not been offered a shot with my beer for 2 bucks. Maybe I just look like a guy who needs a shot after a week of living out of my suitcase. Thankfully, I don’t travel at that pace any more.

Jim is the steward of the LO brand. If he's cool with associating the two, when clearly people ARE making that association, so be it. I head up a media group and I am always vigilant against misperceptions, and when they occur I am sensitive to them. I was just sharing my own professional, politically unmotivated perception.

Ok, I have to say this. The sign says "hope" right? Ok, well that could mean anything.
Personally I have a diamond(not real) encrusted shirt that says "hope", a diamond necklace(again not real) that says "hope" a pen that says "hope" and you know where i got them from. St. Judes Childrens Hospital. (pray your child never has to go there!!!) Now when I wear that shirt am I supporting a presidental candidate or supporting a hospital that saves children's lives? I live in that necklace and now I am afraid to wear it because people will see it and assume that I am sponsoring "someone".

Ok that was all I really had to say. LOL. I am sort of in a mood today.

Would not a Lakewood resident know that there is an Obama office in Lakewood?

Day before last I took my recycling to the curb. I stuffed the LO paper into a empty case of blue. Needless to say that my neighbors now think the paper supports drinking labatt. ;-)
