you can't judge a business by its sign.

you don't judge a book by its cover.

and you don't judge a mayor by his/her endorsers.

I'm pretty excited to get to eat there.. I love the RR Brewing Co. and now I don't have to drive half as far to get same/better food!!

take it easy on the owners, they're getting their feet wet. I always read talk about empty storefronts and no businesses investing in lakewood, and when a new business comes along (which is one of a kind since theres none like it here) everyone trashes it because of their sign.

*sigh* i'm going back to writing my baseball preview article.

Let's put a supermax prison in the middle of Lakewood. At least it will bring in jobs.

The Beer Engine is loving the publicity, but with publicity comes scrutiny.

BEER ENGINE Who Approved This Sign?

Doug,
I honestly have no relationship with this business. I just stopped in to see if they wanted an ad, and I ran into a good friend who is working there part time cooking. I know that he is a fine chef so I am eager to try it, but have no idea what my opinion will be. The sign topic was of interest to me until it got into an area where it changed to trashing the business which hadn't even opened yet.

I can't listen to the link because my speakers are not hooked up but all publicity is publicity regardless.

Doug,
Just for you, I hooked up the speakers! Well that was the longest sermon on beer I ever thought I would hear! I am a wine lover myself, but don't mind trying a micro-brew. I heard him differently than you, though. I heard him explaining why he chose the sign, and yes, laughing at some of the comments made about it which went beyond the sign, to condemning the business. I didn't hear him full of himself, just full of the biggest passion for beer!

I do thing they will bring something good to Lakewood and I hope they change their sign to something more reflective of the Lakewood atmosphere and all will be happy.

"you can't judge a business by its sign."

Ivor, that may be true, but I can judge a sign by it's design and this one's a stinker! :D

Well, no more worries, apparently. I just drove by and the sign is gone.
