Ryan, While "The Petulant Mr. Siley" attempts (at a glacial pace) to win the hearts and minds of local businesses I would remind him that he's putting us all at risk. "Volunteer vigilantism " that's priceless. Mr.Siley refuses to hold businesses accountable, you call him on it and now you're a vigilante. The truth is that this administration would rather gamble with our welfare than inconvenience local retailers. - Finally with regards to Mr. Siley's complaint about you posting a picture of his not so walkable sidewalk. I would suggest to him that "intimidating aggressive" action is much more evident when people in power mislead, manipulate, sit on legal memos and ultimately ignore promises made under oath. Sound familiar, Dru?

Ryan,

Do you know whether the City of Lakewood has a civility policy?

I can't believe that even Mike Summers would tolerate one of his top public employees berating a private citizen - in front of his son no less - at the Mayor's own "State of the City Address" for simply disagreeing with how said top public employee is or isn't doing his job.

Give Mike a call and share his top employee's misconduct.

Just don't make a police report as it may get lost.

Yes, the City of Lakewood does have a Civility Policy. When I was a Crossing Guard last year, I was given one and had to sign that I had received it. A couple of years ago while working, a woman almost ran over myself, a mom and two kids. The mom went with me to see my supervisor and many others were calling the Police Department wanting to come and defend me. We were told that the complainant was a friend of the Mayor's. When the mom voiced her concerns about the school crossing she was basically told that until someone gets killed, there wasn't really anything that could be done. Gee, cronyism, favoritism, double standards? It appears that at City Hall Civility Policies don't apply to a few "chosen" ones!

The results of more fine sidewalks, brought to you by Mr. Dru Siley. A picture says a thousand words.

Matthew, I suspect Ryan would be wasting his time calling Mayor Summers about The Petulant Mr. Siley; especially if the expectation is an apology. Council President Madigan on two occasions passed along misinformation to her constituents on Grace and never apologized. She failed to stand up, she lacked the integrity to inform the Planning Commission that Mr. Siley had misled her and her constituents and never apologized. When you run the city like a private club, when your not accountable to the truth, an apology is the last thing that enters your mind. I would add that if ever an apology was owed, it was owed by Mayor Summers last year regarding his shameful silence.

Ryan, Given that Mr. Siley all but made you an enemy of the state for taking a picture of his not so walkable sidewalk, can you imagine the repercussions if you had shown up with a shovel and cleared the Petulant One's path. I shudder at the consequences. To echo Matt, be careful out there.

With the first day of Spring having come and gone and the prospect of a walkable Lakewood within reach (including even Mr. Siley's sidewalk), what a relief to know that Nature will provide what City Hall refuses- Safe Passage.
Catch you next Winter Petulant One.
