I don't recall stating that I'm opposed to Common Core. I merely pointed out that the Common Core could be hijacked for political reasons.

You asked for the experience of someone "in the know", yet you refuse to accept my experience as one of those people. If you ever want to talk about this in person, send me a private message and we can set that up. I love to talk shop, and would willingly engage in any and all of your questions and concerns. However, as Mr. Markling sees so clearly, this whole thread is a farce at this point.

PS - There are no Common Core standards in Science or Social Studies. I insist on repeating this because it is a fact. Nowhere on this earth will you find them, because the do not exist.
I've told you this already, but the mentions of Social Studies and Science have to do with literacy across content areas. Matthew Lee's most recent post, and the link therein, are accurate depictions of what Common Core means for my profession in the near future.
