From my experience, parking problems existed for me when I rented on a street with many doubles. More people per household and many don't want to deal with blocking the others renting in the house so many use street instead of driveway. This makes it difficult when people visit and there is no parking down the whole street.

Now that I live on a section of street with only single homes... parking is much less of an issue, outside of the fact that I have the driveway to myself. Lakewood has many areas of doubles or apartments, so I can only assume this "issue" exists in many areas.
