Brad,

maybe if I shaved once in a while!

I spent the afternoon throwing my arm off and getting lessons from bowling legend Bob Rice himself.

It was great. Gary gives me books as gifts and Bob gives me advice on how to tame my "hook". A lakewood tag team duo at it's finest.

Sorry for hiding in the corner of the alley, but I was just too ashamed to step outside the alley after getting my butt kicked by Bret Calentine and his son in bowling!

They showed no mercy!

On the last lane in this photo is Ivor, getting a bad beating from Bret Callentine's son. In the nearest lane is Kevin Scott, watching Sarah bowl, as grandma Joanne looks on.

We filled the place on a cold day with play off games going on. It was very nice to see, and we took in a pretty good haul for Lakewood Christian Serve Center. Souldn;t have done it without the Scott/Brinkman Family, and of course members of the Lakewood Observer.

Thanks again for a great afternoon.

Next one is already being planned, and we will be going back to our monthly writer/residents meetings at bela dubby.

Ex-Ward 2 Councilman, Ryan Patrick Demro does a knowledge base transfer to new Ward 2 Councilman Tom Bullock. "Tom it is hands on. The family at 1537 Woodward likes to know you are walking the streets. Then the family at 1538 hates garbage in their front yard. Now the divorced woman with two kids Bob 13 and Ray 17 at 1539 is a total freak for sewer problems, now at 1540..."

David, had I been there, I can assure you I would have challenged you ... :D ...

Thanks for the photos all.
Looks like it was a successful party.

Thanks to all who planned this and pulled it off. Great time for all ages!!!

And no, the rumors are NOT true, Ivor did not lose to my 7 year old son, Ivor beat him by two pins. :D

If we're putting together a league, I'm going with David "the Dude" Lay's idea, we should all have to dress in bath robes and drink white russians and call it the LO "Lebowski" league.

I'm sorry I missed the squirrel, but I did enjoy the moose.

Ivor,

I understand that after a few hook control lessons from my dad, that you will be hard to beat in the future! Dad says that you are bowling like a pro now and the more you bowl the better you'll get! He also reminds us to think before we throw! (Watch those marks!)

We both wish you well and are looking forward to bowling with you again.

Keep up the good work!

Gary, with Bob

It looks like the party was a blast. Thanks for putting up the photos. We really wished we could have been there. Mahall's is our second home as it is, and for me, I started going there on a daily basis during my stint at LHS, and then after that, then after I came home from the service, then again about 6 or 8 years ago we started going every evening until the little one was born.

We'll try again for the next party for sure.

Mark and Karen

PS: We both love to shoot pool, me having done so for a long time, Karen not so long but became very goodl.

Now bowling...maybe it was good we didn't show up, because the last time we bowled, I made a high flying gutter ball but it landed on the next alley over, so at least we couldn't have injured someone.
Our scores combined came to about 40 or 50

I thought I was the only one who's done that!

Kudos to those who pulled this together. It was a good time. And I must say, Sharon's coat was very soft.

It was good to see you, Ryan! Best of luck to you in the Army, and thank you for your service to Lakewood - I for one will miss you.

My family had a fun time...thanks!! I'm sorry I didn't get to meet many of the Observers...we were too busy bowling, and I'm REALLY bad at introducing myself.

Lakewood Christian Service Center update_

I just wanted thank all of you that donated at the party. I was informed today that all of the items that were brought in have already been distributed. Please remember them all through the year, a roll of toilet paper, a bar of soap, a can of soup. Things most of us take for granted every day. Thanks again for your generosity, and please continue to give.

I'm glad to see the items have been distributed so quickly! Jennifer, you did a fantastic job planning the party - here's hoping there's more where that came from!
