Yeah, throw some shade at the girl but pretend you're horrified at what happened.

No shade. Just a matter of me asking myself, "Was there disrespect?"

He overreacted, period.

My statement was more of the attacks people have been making on the LPD, including you Bridget.

I've kind of asked this question before, but: who is attacking the LPD?

I don't see every post, but I'm not sure that I've seen even one example of this. (I don't think that condemning one officer, whose actions the LPD has formally judged inappropriate, equates to attacking the LPD.)

GOD BLESS LAKEWOOD COPS! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!

For those of you that hate our cops so much, I hope they remember who you are if you are ever pulled over!

The Investigation by the police department concluded the officer acted inappropriately and with excessive force.

Are they dissing themselves, bentleymike?

Did they see and hear ALL the evidence including any audio from early in the tape?

So quit trying to insinuate that the girl was somehow deserving of being attacked and that we don't know all the facts or both sides. WE DO.

It's victim blaming again and again by you and others.

And you insinuating that anyone who finds this conduct deplorable is attacking the LPD is a typical diversion tactic.

The way I read it, no one here thinks badly of the LPD. Quite the opposite.

However, if you review the official statement at:
http://lakewoodobserver.com/forum/viewt ... ty#p176999
the LPD did not support the officer's actions in this situations, and disciplined him.

Unfortunately, in the early days of this discussion on all boards Officer Evans was branded as racist, and the Lakewood Police were racists. Neither is true.

When the shift on social media went to, class disputes, I see it as another red herring.

Robert Bobik nails it.

People are human, and people make mistakes.

We are watching the system in action, and it is working. No cover-up, no brutality.

It bothers me when discussions like this rage on when appropriate action has been taken.
It's like a social media scarlet letter.
Some deserve this. But in this case, it seems to me the officer deserves another chance.
