Mostly it is people who are tired of the constant harping on the hospital and bad government themes. I say harp on.
We deserve a nice thread like the one on clouds. We also need a way to air our grievances and keep the hospital topic alive until the November referendum.
If you don't like that it is going on so long, and has caused such long term divisiveness, complain to Council and the town attorney, they are the ones who stalled and delayed the vote - all with nice smiling faces, except when they have to listen to criticism grounded in facts.
I'm as sick of it as anyone, but then I read things like this quote JOB reported awhile back - "Read David Stein's letter to Council and the Mayor, "We must not let this fall apart like the West End did. We cannot allow the public to vote on this." "
That among other things keeps me going. It's a nasty divisive debate, but we the citizens didn't start it or prolong it.
"We cannot allow the public to vote on this."
Yes we can, and yes we must.
Dan

Thanks for calling it to the top.
I feel somewhat weary of the whole thing, but re-reading the post reinvigorates me.
Yes we must vote Against Issue 64.

The post above about sums up the mentality for me.
Baiting.
Encouraged baiting.
Excusable baiting.
Blaming others while baiting.
Gang mentality against opposing people.
Mob mentality against opposing people.
Picking fights.
Flinging mud.
Throwing insults.
A complete loss of conversation, replaced by hate.
Look where the thread starts, innocent enough.
Look where the thread picks a fight by "baiting."
Baiting from Save Lakewood members and LO Kool Aid advocates.
Look where the thread goes and the tone it takes.
Typical.
Yet the blame is always put on the outsider of Save Lakewood and the Kool Aid gang.
More typical.

"Read David Stein's letter to Council and the Mayor, "We must not let this fall apart like the West End did. We cannot allow the public to vote on this." "
This administration has quite a history of obstructing public participation and voting.
From delaying certifying the referendum petition signatures and thus delaying a vote, to "purging" Dem club members so they couldn't vote on Issue 64 endorsements, to Butler declaring that if the referendum passes Nov 8, it will mean nothing and the city will ignore the vote.
Read it again:
We cannot allow the public to vote on this."
Is this acceptable to taxpaying Lakewood residents?
To have an administration that actively tries to impede public participation in important decisions that affect the future of our city?
If you care at all about Lakewood, democracy, and the freedom to speak free, then you must
VOTE AGAINST ISSUE 64.

Enough distraction.
Reread the quote from David Stein, BuildLakewood supporter and Summers supporter.
"We cannot allow the public to vote on this."
We cannot allow the public to vote on this."

How was this baiting? This post was over a year old.
Written from David, that proves it is the WestEnd group, desperate to get to the funds without any input from the residents.
His words, his actions read it, no baiting.
Wait till you read the story version with documents.

Not you baiting. Amy. I copy/pasted the post, not much more obvious I could be than that.
The thread started as a thread should and then the hate is introduced by your followers. Typical.

Huh? Just means the hate and anarchy you created, encourage and promote 26+ months ago is still played out by your followers to this day.

Mr. Rossen, That's priceless coming from you.
Should we revisit the tag team vile that you and your fellow Build Lakewood shill, kate e. parker, offered up awhile back.
You know, the stuff that got you benched by Build Lakewood.
Say the word and we can all take a walk down memory lane with Rossen and parker.

That's a helluva threat. But, why would you punish us like that? Why?
