Patrick Wadden wrote:Lori starts a thread that since June 20, 2016 puts the City and the Mayor on blast spreading lies and Accusing "lord Lakewood" of fixing his street first. Everybody from Deneen, Gosetti, Bridget then pile on with the snark. Fast forward to today and Chris Perry ( who I have never met and do not know) comes on here and lays to waste every single thing she posted.
I've met Chris on a number of occasions and like him a lot. He's a good guy and the kind of person who is a credit to our city government. He's also an arborist, knows more about trees than anyone else I've met and has helped me with a tree problem I had.

A couple of quick points on this thread and then I'd like to see it shift to the first amendment issues raised in another thread which are more important.

Lori pointed out that the Mayor's street was one of the first to be patched, which apparently is accurate, and I won't comment on some conclusions she drew from this. Chris posted the reasons for it and they were good ones. Both points are of general interest to Lakewood. So I conclude that the Deck has done its job - Lakewood citizens wouldn't get this information anyplace else.

Something I didn't see was a possible rationale for patching Kenneth, which is a major connector between Lake and the west part of Edgewater, and also the stepping off point for our big July 4 parade. If it were up to me, Kenneth would be a "B" priority street after other key arteries.

Chris Perry wrote:A friend of mine sent me a text today asking if I had seen the claims made by Lori Allen about pothole patching and street resurfacing on the Observation Deck – I used to be a contributor to the Lakewood Observer years ago, but I don’t come here much anymore, perhaps once every one or two months just to take a cursory look.

Every single claim made by Lori Allen in this thread is simply false. False do such a degree that it merits a response based on facts to set the record straight.
Don't worry Chris, anyone with a iota of sense already knows this. Thanks for the information.

If I made add to this...

Chris Perry, is a longtime Observer, and all around good person that has always been straight with the Observer, and myself.

Lori

I would say the next move would be more than an attack, perhaps some photos? Documentation? How does one investigate a murder without a body?

There are many issues at City Hall, but 90% are at a management level, our city workers are overworked and underpaid, and deserve a contract.

A murder without a body if kind of the same thing as a murder called a suicide.

Can you please add dates please?

I had raised some objections over they way Franklin was done, which is on the list. A lot of it making no sense.

http://www.lakewoodobserver.com/forum/v ... ter#p91430

BUT! It was done. So Mr. Perry was correct in what was said. I do believe many of the dates he provided might have come from records because he has had many jobs in the city from the Water Department, to Trees, to where he is now.

It was my understanding that Mayor Summers was not using the Jimmy DiMora Street Painter, but doing more down to the base rebuilds.

Of course this will lead to another interesting topic. As streets get fixed, residents almost always then complain of speeding.

So should they leave the speed bumps in? :

They were all taken this week. I will ensure to notate dates more carefully next time.

That's okay, plenty more where these came from! :D

I will now take a moment to tip my hat toward Mike Summers and his gang!

Something must have gotten the mayor moving, as several streets were spotted as thoroughly patched to day, 4/24/17. Those streets include, but are not limited to, Lewis, Athens (east of Lincoln), Lincoln south of Athens, and one other street which name escapes me.

Mike, please don't forget however, that other streets still need attention. There is always more work to be done.

Athens between Carabel & Warren needs attention badly, as I counted about ten tire-eaters on this stretch, here is one:

Come on Mike, I know you can do it! I know you can get every Lakewood street patched in a timely fashion! I have faith in you!

Mike, If you find yourself in a moment of despair and all hope seems lost when these pesky potholes seem to keep creeping up on you, just remember:

It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight! Risin' up to the challenge of our rival!
Your rival in this case is those potholes! :D Rise up to the challenge, Mike, it will be a thrill! :D

More to come.
