As usual, Build Lakewood refuses to answer direct questions.
Here's a direct question, what happened to the debate? Still wondering.

You'll have to ask your Mayor. The offer has been made by Skindell.
Frankly, I don't expect Summers to participate...he is trying to distance himself from the hospital deal as much as possible.

I have heard rumors otherwise. Of course it's hearsay so we don't want to just throw things that may or may not be true out there. Take care.

Todd loves rumors! Those seem to be where he gets his facts.

Jim Kenny from Build Lakewood- "Like a surgeon attacking cancer, he( Councilperson Anderson) went right to the source ( The Lakewood Observer)".
Jim Kenny from Build Lakewood- " When a cancer arises on The Observation Deck we all have an obligation to treat it".

Mr. Kenny having lost family members to cancer I cannot tell you how vile I find your equating discourse among residents with that dreaded disease.

Good one Mike you got me, buuuurn. Such a 12 year old. So no debate actually it was skindell who refused to go ahead after the PD endorsement. Guess his showing in the video want up to par.

As usual, you have no idea what you're talking about. Your mayor has been dragging his feet on the debate details....I believe because he's afraid.

BTW, you first said you didn't know about the debate, then you declare that "it was skindell who refused".
Were you lying with your first statement or with your second statement? By definition, they cannot both be true.

I'm curious by your ongoing allegations, Todd.

Not surprised.

Just curious.

You seem to know a lot about the debate requested by Senator Skindell.

More than any of us here on the Deck.

Please share all your debate details, Todd.

Give us the facts.

Just the facts, Todd.

Matt

m buckley: Please forgive me. I know you're pain. I've lost too many to the dreaded disease and, worse yet, I have two separate dear friends who are now in stage 4. I will be more sensitive when choosing my words.

Well, that didn't take long to devolve. Well done, Observers! :-)

I do appreciate the smattering of relevant discussion throughout this thread but it is tough to weed through the name-calling and typical talking points found in nearly every other thread now running on the main page of the Deck (outside of ones about Spooky Pooch or Window painting contests, though to be fair I haven't checked that kind of thread so who knows, some anti-Summers jam might be there, too).

Anyway, if a thread could be capped off I would do it but alas. Thanks for the input! I have some good food for thought on my decision between Summers and Skindell!

Later 'gators,

Phil

Professional Deck readers skip over the adjectives, and read the facts. It has always been an acquired taste, but with little else truth around town, it is the imperfect method we have brought to the community.

If you want to avoid negativity or name calling, perhaps a better name for the thread you started would of might have been "Pro Summers? Pro-Skincell?" or "How is best to lead us why?" "Does anyone know anything about these people?" But when you start with "Anti-Summers, Pro Skindell" YOU have in fact framed the discussion that follows. You were the one starting "Anti-Summers" conversations.

A valid point. I was hoping that my opening words would clarify my main point (asking if the pro-Skindell people were voting for him based on his qualifications or just because he is not Summers) and got some good responses initially so some people got it. Clearly in a click-bait world one has to choose headlines so carefully. Sorry that it fed the beast.

Thanks!

Mayor Summers and his allies have discovered that they are on the losing side of the Hospital argument so they are pretending it just isn't all that important.'

Now they are reduced to implying that if Mike Skindell is elected the police won't police, the fire department won't respond to fires, the streets won't get paved and chaos will reign.

Relax. Skindell is a competent and experience person.

What do we need to worry about?

If the Mayor succeeds in moving 1,500 hundred jobs to Lorain the Cities economy will take a big hit. What then?

Waaaaaaaaay to many people never learned, "Stick and stones can break my bones but names will never hurt me."

Gold, is not easy to find, and truth on internet sources is pretty rare. Here you admit you find gold, but sometimes it gets difficult.
Facts are facts, more documents pasted with facts here than anywhere else. More real people willing to vet other real people than anywhere else.

As for Click Bait, everyone needs to lighten up. Oh the horror I clicked and nearly read all of your story, before realizing...

The Internet Trolls errrr fairies, have a strange habit of saying, "I hate this place, people are negative and stupid." When in fact they are negative and feeding the negativity. Spelling nazis, click bait police, mean spirited finger waggers, what a pitiful way to have to go through life. Take what real people offer and use every inch of it to define not just what you think but what you think of the person. Life is about critical thought, and fun, not grading other people's papers for life for free.

But what do I know?
