Well hmmm... 2 days notice, Monday morning and Sarah Palin solo. Not sure what Obama's time frame was for Sunday's rally but, heck, if I didn't have to get back to Lakewood after the Brown's game I would have stuck around for a free Springsteen concert. Lots of people did stop after the game because Cleveland was a bit gridlocked for awhile. FWIW

I did not attend this morning as there was no way I was getting up that early when my kids didn't have school. My 12 year old did want to get up early and go show his support for Obama but I told him there were better ways to spend his time. I did listen to npr on my way home from a doctors appointment and they said attendance was about 1,500. Whether it was 4,000 or 1,500 that seems like a very small crowd, especially since today is a key day to get to as many voters as possible. While Palin is not the top of the ticket, I have gotten the impression that she is the one who pulls in the crowds and the day before an election speaking to a crowd of 4,000 seems like it would be disappointing.

It would appear that the Lakewood Observer has an agenda... Ignore those Obama signs in the window...
From some this would be laughable but from you pitiful.

Agenda?

You wanted a special section within minutes you had one. No one asked what you were going to put, just a general idea for a name of the section. No one has ever tried to censor you, shut you up or as is the case so often with me, threaten you.

So the Observer agenda is?

Jennifer the people from the Browns game were not able to get into the malls as they were already filled. The Browns fans were on the sidewalks watching the rally on large screens. And I did not get my email from the Obama campaign until Friday, so not much notice there either.

I wanted to go, but I figured if I wore my t-shirt "My pitbull is smarter than Sarah Palin" I would not have been allowed to stay. But alas I was at home with my kids....and new pregnant foster dog.

Well they stuck around for quite awhile for a free concert than because Springsteen didn't come on until pretty late, well after the majority of the Browns fans had left and I didn't see many people leave after Springsteen was done. I guess they decided to stick around and listen to Obama. I only say two people say anything negative. One was a Browns fan walking by after the game at maybe 4pm, yelling that Obama was a socialist. And the other was a drunk guy who told my 12 year old that he was a uneducated kid, I told him that he was far more educated than him and that a drunk walking around in public shouldn't be passing judgement on kids.

You know, it's interesting. I just re-read the thread about Obama/Springsteen and not one of us( republicans ) made one single snotty, smarmy, negative comment about it. People went, enjoyed the afternoon and commented on it. We went today for Palin and just look at what you all wrote. From busing in people to obviously not having anyone there, my pit bull is smarter..., to what she said. It truly saddens me.

NBC/NJ's Matthew Berger wrote:LAKEWOOD, Ohio – It was not the best of beginnings for Palin Monday morning.

At the first of the Alaska governor’s six rallies of the day, there was plenty of room to spare. The crowd at Lakewood Park was sparse, to say the least, perhaps one of the smallest she has seen in weeks.

Got it- huger, awesomer

MSNBC totally would have interviewed you. It would have been great.

I am totally bummed out that Gary must work at a job that doesn't allow him constant access to the internet.

Now that is a real bummer.

Gotta go
