Jim -
Never having a tree fall down over power lines on my property, I must ask these questions. Did Lakewood pick up the tab on the chopping up and moving of your tree? If so, was this because the tree was on the tree lawn as opposed to your back yard?
Thanks

So today I get home and find a letter from city hall.
A Correction Notice
That my house needs gutter and downspouts.
That the letter was sent to help me with getting paid from my insurance company.
While i appreciate the prompt attention to detail my house got. (My neighbor has had 25' of gutter blowing in the wind for 10 months now.) As the water running off the 1 3' section, and the other 6' section, would cause massive damage to my yard.
I would like to point out that it was a CITY TREE that hit my house. A tree we had questioned about before, when the one next to it fell over in the middle of summer from rot.
As it was listed as a complaint, one would have to think someone complained, or it is nothing short of harassment. I will be filing for public disclosure on that "complaint." And will be keeping you posted.

MY INSURANCE COMPANY! I hope you sent a copy to your insurance company.

I have been told by the city that this was not a "citation" but a note to help if I had insurance problems.

Update -
I would like to thank city workers that stopped by yesterday and cleaned up the rest of the mess from the ice storm.
As the snow had melted and I had returned from the east coast, I could finally see all the branches and damage from the tree that fell during the ice storm. So after taking care of things at the office I headed home with Deb to clean up the mess.
When we pulled in the city crew had beat us to it. Which leaves us with only part of a stump to remove.
Thanks, it was a very nice gesture and effort.

Good luck Deb, Jim is one heck of a large stump to budge.
