UPDATE:
Really cool feature added to U-VERSE.
You can now access your DVR from any box in your house.
There is also a 5 sec auto rewind when fastforwarding past commercials which keeps you from going too far.
These are really amazing updates.
Way to go U-VERSE!

NEW HD channels added. I think 6 or so but I only cared about Foxnews and Fox business. I can now get brainwashed in HD! I am so excited!
Another plus to ATT Uverse.

I really wonder why years after they started putting all those giant boxes all over the place that it's not available all over Lakewood yet.
Just seems a little strange.

Check out
this artist's public art pieces for a great example of what could be done with these boxes with a little imagination (and a little cash - he got paid $10K to do 9 boxes!) He covers the boxes with digitally-printed adhesive vinyl.
Here's some more
and more yet...

Some more "art" top be collected and displayed on councilman Bullock's facebook page. This light speed box was done by one of his savvy "friends" trying to once again show how well he "reps da block."
As many have said, "I love facebook, I can write to hundreds of friends and never have to really interact with anyone. You can actually block people and they do not even know! Of course I do not have the time or the need to read their post. Why of course they could do that too, but who would block me?"
What was that Carly Simon song?
Sorry got sidetracked!
I thought AT&T promised to keep up on this graffiti problem?
Too many targets, went for the long hanging fruit.

Hi,
Boy the graphics on those boxes are amazing! They turn lemons into lemonaid. Does Mr. Dunn know about this stuff? He is just the guy that should push this artification of those ugly boxes through AT&T to make up for all of Lakewood people that now have to look at them. Geez, maybe even Council could support the idea. (Some would probably think that the Port Authority would need to back it first).
Great idea though. Wonder if anyone is Lakewood could do such work? Maybe mainstreet people can offer suggestions.

Hi,
Wanted to edit my post but this that feature is not offered on this board. So, another post. The graphics I'm referring to are those in Mr. Pedaci's post

They broke that promise when they put the boxes up in the first place. I know I am/have harping/harped but I really dislike the whole shebang.

Not really known for new or fresh ideas. I thought they backed the whole
Lightspeed box thing as being great for the city.

Maybe the boxes can be used for "wayfinding?" Instead of spending money on boxy kiosks, the Lightspeed boxes are ready-made and free!
Maybe they can find an out-of-town "artist" to draw maps and arrows on them to show people the way around Lakewood?

Hi,
Super idea Ms. O"Malley! At least the first part.
