Stan,
I have a few questions for you.
As you are the Treasurer/Campaign Manager for Kristine Pagsuyoin’s school board campaign, you obviously want one of the three incumbent candidates to lose. Which of the three incumbent candidates (if any) do you and Kristine want to win and why? Which of the three incumbent candidates do you and Kristine want to lose and why?
I believe that both Matt Markling and John Kamkutis send all their children to the Lakewood City Schools. Would you and Kristine support a candidate who sends a child to a private school instead? What about a charter/community school? What about homeschooling? Why or why not?
I also believe that Emma Petrie-Barcelona works under Mayor Michael Summers as the Development Officer for the City of Lakewood. Given Kristine’s position during and after the Phase III process, will you and Kristine be supporting Emma’s campaign? Why or why not?
While I believe that Bill Call supported the last operating levy, Bill has made his views on various school related issues well known. Will you and Kristine be supporting Bill’s campaign? Why or why not?

Scott--- I am the Treasurer of Kristine Pagsuyoin's campaign.
Ms. Pagsuyoin is the candidate and in total charge of her campaign.
This is an at large election with three seats open and as such there are a variety of reasons, issues and even personal relationships that might enter into a voter's decision on how to cast a vote or up to three votes.
I have personally offered a few ideas on how this election might be viewed.
The campaign has just begun. The one thing I do know is that you have demonstrated why this campaign will be vigorous and test all of the candidates. We do our best in Lakewood with rational discussions as has been evident on the Deck in this thread.
Let's enjoy the ensuing months as we determine our community's future.

Hi Scott,
I know your questions were directed to Stan; however, I didn’t want your questions to go unanswered. Stan Austin is serving as treasurer for the “Pagsuyoin for Lakewood Schools Committee”. He is not serving as campaign manager.
This fall there are 3 seats up for election. Over the last several years I have been very involved with attending school board meetings, serving on committees, and helping in our schools whenever and wherever possible. To me, education is one of the most important issues for our community and region. I believe that I can bring a fresh perspective to the school board while maintaining our district’s ability to offer our students an excellent education. I am not running against anyone, but for a seat and an opportunity to improve the relationship between the board, parents, and the community.
I am looking forward to listening to all of the candidates’ views on education including the current school board members who are running for re-election. This November is a big year for local elections; school board, city council, and mayor.
Thanks for the questions, Scott.
Kristine

Scott,
The current list, as of April 21, 2011, can be viewed at
http://boe.cuyahogacounty.us/pdf_boe/en-US/2011_School_Board_Offices.PDF.
I am the only person to have filed any petitions, as of April 21, 2011, but the deadline is still far away – so there is plenty of time left.
And, as stated above, there are individuals who pulled petitions “anonymously” but the Board of Elections will not give me an exact amount.
Matt

Tom Einhouse adds his name to the list.

I'm hoping for some future guidance on which candidates are best for maximum utilization of the city/county
relationship. I'm giving your insights some serious thought.
Thank You!

Is this the Einhouse who is a fund raiser for Playhouse Square? Any relation to the Einhouse at the Beck Center? Any relation to Lakewood Alive?
An elected member to the Lakewood Board of Education should represent the people of Lakewood and not the various special interest groups that feed off the people of Lakewood.
If the Lakewood Board of Education is composed of people who collect public pensions and who collect public salaries and who depend upon tax dollars for the survival of their business who will they represent?
Have at it.

Gregory Calleri and Ryan Salo add their names to the list.
Matt Markling announced his withdrawl but still appears. Will his name be on the ballot?
http://boe.cuyahogacounty.us/pdf_boe/en ... ffices.PDFWhy so much interest in serving on the Lakewood City Schools Board of Education?
I don't ever remember having much of a choice in past elections.

Tom Einhouse is VP of PSF Real Estate Services. They manage Playhouse Square Foundation's properties. His wife is Cindy Einhouse, who is head of the Beck. They are both long time Lakewood residents.
