The point is that if someone tells me they got married then some time later tells me they got married then some time later tells me they got married then for the fourth time in the same day tells me they got married, I would have to politely tell them that’s great but can I get back to work?

Brian Pedaci wrote:I know lots of straight women who can't shut up about their weddings either. Doesn't make me justified in telling them they're 'deviant' and 'immoral' at work.

I agree, women really chat up talking about it and there’s nothing wrong with that. But discussing the aspects of the wedding is not the same as telling someone four times in one day.

The title of this thread is misleading. He didn’t get fired because gay marriage is legalized, he got fired for expressing his beliefs on the clock thereby violating Brookstone’s zero tolerance policy. He made that choice and he suffered the consequences.

Fox News wrote:The woman, according to Vadala, then said, "Human resources, buddy - keep your opinions to yourself," before exiting the store.

She was HR and he was baited, it was a test and he failed.

Maybe straight conservative born again judgemental conservative "christiains" are deviant for only being missionary in bed.

Maybe judging others is deviant and speaks to a lack of self-esteem on the part of the fingerpointer. Maybe some of these people could look to Imperial Avenue scum sucker or the Fort Hood scum sucker for true evil and leave those who only want to love alone.

Ryan - I find your constant harping offensive and one more example of republican whining on this deck.

it is beginning to read more like the visiting manager thought Peter Vadala was gay, and trying to make him feel more comfortable about it. A lot of men brought up with a lot of religious faith come off as gay. not just Michael Jackson, but all of his brothers. Even Prince is reported to have converted to Jehovah's Witness. Joel Osteen. Ted Strickland. Ernest Angley. all these catholic priests in the news.

Ryan Salo wrote:Could you imagine a gay person being fired if they said church marriage is outdated and should not be allowed? Never.

Gay people can get fired for saying they are gay. Happens every day.

The members of the church in which I was married decided they no longer wanted their pastors to sign wedding licenses. They wanted a separation of church and state and they don't want their pastors being agents of the state.

Could you imagine?

And that would have been the perfectly appropriate response in this case. He could learn something from you.

We don't know in what context these four mentions were made. It could have been tangential to what was being discussed, it could have been blatant and directed at him. We just don't know, and I'm not particularly convinced by his version of the story.

She was HR and he was baited, it was a test and he failed.

I don't believe her quote meant that she 'was HR', it may have meant that he should be careful lest he create an HR issue.
