I agree with Heather, and I know I have mentioned that at several LO meetings. It drives me nuts when I am on there and I want to see a picture but when I click on it it doesn't take me to it.

I also agree with the multiple uploader. Every time I up load images it seems like such a painful process. It would be so much easier just to select all the images you want uploaded at once and then just let them take the time to do it without having to waste your time doing it one at a time. However if it changes to this I would also like it to be easier to change the captions after everything is uploaded. I have loaded my pictures before and then gone back to add captions and I spent more time waiting for the system to respond than I did typing the caption. It would be nice if after uploading it showed all your images and than next to or underneath them had a box for you to give a caption. That way you only have to hit save once.

Just uploaded my Veterans' Day photoblog yesterday and was surprised to see the photos displayed as thumbnails, rather than as a slideshow.

A concern that I have would be that the full photocaptions apparently do not display fully in this new format.

Jimmy, if you want us to post photos and news commentary, they have to be read in their entirety. It's not always possible to describe something in 5 words or less, but I will try to re-edit the captions.

Honestly though, when the family selected a grave marker awhile back, we were told that we could only use four extra words, other than the name (s) on a particular kind of marker....

Four words.... to describe life?

Something to consider in the grand scheme of things, I suppose.

Be wordy, it helps the city.

The caption box will take all the words you want to put in. You may want to write
captions first, then copy and paste them in.

The gallery still does slide shows controlled by the left and right edges of the photo,
and/or using the arrow keys on a typical key board. We decided on this as many
people are looking first for their photo, then the event. We thought of this as a good
compromise.

These are the bandaids we place on this as we are working on another complete and
very different software package. One thing we had to do was construct a completely
new back bone for the entire system. This was accomplished seamlessly over the past
6 months, and all of our projects now benefit from that and the constant stream of
upgrades following.

With the photo gallery, we are looking at various ways to make it faster and easier. One
real issue is the current size of files with 12 mega pixel cameras, without getting to deep
what the software does but each images needs to be multiprocessed, for print, online,
thumbnails, and all sorts of things from dot gain to color corrections to archiving. So
we are looking at a way to process after the upload, but that is very tricky, and has
been one of many issues we are facing.

One thing I do is create actions in photoshop that makes it much easier to upload. If
the images are only for online 8" at 100dpi is enough. For print we need 8" at 300dpi.
Most 12 megapixal cameras are 52" at 100dpi! Hence the speed.

All of this input is appreciated, and will be considered in V5.
