haha I was just thinking bagels! I don't think it will necessarily hurt the other businesses but I could see the concern. I like variety myself. Einstein's has THE best breakfast bagel and I don't see people giving that up. Panera has nothing like it. The SouperMarket has soup that can't be touched by Panera either. But I like Panera for a later day place and some decent sandwiches. I like that it is coming and I think 5 guys will get a different crowd than the Beer Engine and others too. Maybe the younger crowd. They like more grease.

As far as the digression to the parade, why would any funds be kept in an organization that has thousands for payroll? I think all the money should go to the two local animal shelters, Missy's and the Lakewood one. And NO way should MIssy be paying for a table to advertise a true non profit that HELPS dogs! No way!

Back to bagels though...

It's not a game.

I hope Lakewood will not send someone (Ryan) back to City Council who thinks that it is.

City Council is now doing serious work, without the snippy sarcasm and gamesmanship that existed during Ryan's term.

Of course Ryan dropped the ball on the Observers Candidates Forum, why should we expect anything like responsible behavior from him.

Ed I am jealous you get eye rolling. I get evil eye stares. One guy next to me asked what I did that was so wrong to get such nasty looks from people. LOL.

I could go for a bagel right now though, but I have the stomach flu and I am thinking that might put me over the edge.

No one on council stood up for the skate boarders initially except Ryan. He called people to get them out. Eventually he and a large crowd convinced the other council people of the need for the skate park and it is a popular attraction in the park.

I think Ryan is right that the rest of the council haven't proven to be real animal lovers.

I don't think Ryan thinks it is a game. But it is have nice to have someone that sticks up for the little guy now and then. He was also there for noise pollution. Sometimes group think isn't the best way to get the best results.

While I have never doubted that Ryan is ambitious, I don't find that a crime. I certainly don't agree with Ryan on every issue. But I do think he does his best to represent the citizens of Lakewood to the best of his ability. And he has the backbone to stand up when others are against him. He also has the intelligence to change his mind when he believes he made a mistake. I find both qualities admirable.

I will say, even when he wasn't my councilman, if I called him with a question or a problem - he always got back to me.
