it is sad that an armed services recruiter was murdered.

yet many more armed service recruiters have died recently through suicide.

they are put under a lot of pressure to produce recruits.

I think they waste too much time at the high schools. the drinking age is high in america(to reduce DUI fatalities(even Reagan agreed(most teenagers drive like a-holes even when they are sober))). high school grads want to live a little after high school. armed services recruiters should spend more time working the community colleges and less in high schools. and they should spend time where young adult service industry workers hang out after work. the chain restaurant sports bars. Applebee's. bennigans. dave and busters. stuff like that.

So a quick Google search for releated coverage of William Long's murder ("William Long Murder Recruiter"...the latter added to get rid of too many non-recruiters named William Long) brought up 167 news items (which included articles, blogs, etc.) which I guess Bill is saying is all from Conservative press like the New York Times and a variety of television news networks. A similar search with the words "Dr. Tiller Murder" brought up 39 hits (same deal...articles, blogs, etc.). So it seems there is a difference but maybe it is perception of the viewer, not the reality of "hits" in the mediasphere.

For example, the behavior of various health care protestors (especially the gun-toting one with the sign calling for the "blood of tyrants" to be spilled) would have gotten at least a strong "Harumph" from Fox News exactly one year ago if they showed up at a Bush rally but now they are folk heroes if not out and out calls of Treason. So I guess it has more to do with the cause you find closer to your heart.

I can't wait to see what the militias and second amendment folks are like in a year or two if they are this bad 8 months into the presidency. I guess we can stop looking outside our nation for the next terrorist act. The next McVeigh is cleaning his legally owned gun(s) right now proud at the thought that he gets to spill the blood of tyrants again for this great nation. Shudder along with me now.
