And yet the VP seemed even more invulnerable than the Prez. Go figger.

there is a "department of law" in alaska.

It is uncouth of Palin to appeal to the Feds to squeegee away Alaska State inquiries or investigations against her governance of Alaska. Unless she was a democrat. or something about principles. states' rights?????????

youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCdqRbWYWbU Wm Shatner reads Palin. priceless

My opinion is that Sarah Palin does want to run for President. Perhaps she sees herself as leading the rump Republicans out of the wilderness they've scurried to.

What's not to like about that?

Her intellectual tree presents nothing but low hanging fruit. Palin is kind of smart, yet not very educated, and not in the least bit 'emotionally intelligent.'

Yet, she surely believes herself to be the obvious beacon of truth-telling for the new silent majority. Pro: guns, white people, soldiers, rural christian values, low taxes, strict constitutional construction, state's rights, main street, innovation, probably intelligent design, and most of the other idiot tropes, memes, and autistic formulations that define how conservatism has come to insult most educated, cosmopolitan people's intelligence.

Luckily, she was purged of the influence of witchcraft. We don't have to worry about the dark artistry of witches and satan in her case.

Anyway... Not only is this immensely amusing to observe and to hear about, but nowadays all the fellow traveling birthers and tea baggers and people raving about socialism and fascism and posits about Obama being a jihadi and other such beautiful lunacy, get their minutes of viral fame on youtube too. Palin should be able to leverage this 'new media' given her natural constituency and their propensity to film themselves.

Which is to suggest that Palin is of a cultural piece with the whole nutty implosion, as she joins the astonishing brain trust that includes Rush, and Beck and Hannity and Bachman, and DeMint, and Imhofe, and Kristol, and Boehner, and Cantor, and Malkin, and Huckabee and Romney, and Coulter, and O'Reilly and Cheney and all the others.

What is their main point? It would seem that it is: that the United States is the venue for a Manichean battle between conservatives who are righteous and christian and good and get 'it,' and, all those who for some unspecified reasons are unable to grok just how wonderfully illuminated the conservative brain trust in fact, is. Their opposition, then, is evil and stupid.

This is, rather, a patronizing pitch. Still, we live in a country where ambition and pizzazz counts for a ton, so, I say: "I hope Sarah Palin's sense of entitlement and grandiosity doesn't fade one bit in her journey toward making Tina Fey one of the great comics of our era."

Palin is fabulous and I, for one, am all a titter to see her reach for those future big rings.
