I can't wait to hear how right wing shills rationalize this.

and the problem is ???? Did you donate money to the republican party?

JOB, funny point about donating the clothing. Who would get this? Would some homeless lady be the best dressed dame walking the streets? She should have gotten her stuff where other pitbulls with lipstick get their clothing.

I agree it is much ado about nothing, though. Funny and distracting but hardly surprising.

THe problem is that your girl is pretending to be one of the blue-collar "common folk", yet lives like Paris Hilton (although Paris is probably smarter than Caribou Barbie)

As I said when she was nominated, GOP hypocrisy and stupidity knows no limits.

I consider it a privilege to be able to work and pay taxes so that those less fortunate may have an opportunity to have adequate health care services.

And I'm not a Christian.

Seeing how the McCain/Palin campaign has accepted federal funds is it not too far to suggest that we taxpayers purchased Palin's new clothes?

So, Jennifer, you and your husband are paying for Palin's campaign wardrobe.

As for health care, we should all realize that the federal government is already in control. Medicare, Medicaid and county hospital ER's that can't turn folks without insurance away highly influence the costs and availability of private coverage. Government run health care is what we have right now.

Jennifer, you and your husband are paying for others' Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security right now. I'm sure this is not news to you.

As a non right wing Christian, I think the fact that millions of Americans - mostly children - lack adequate health coverage is immoral. However, I also think abortion, the death penalty, unjust war and putting civilians in the crosshairs during an unjust war are also immoral acts.

Much ado about very little...

Surely it was within expectations that when a trophy VEEP was put on the ticket, there would have to be appropriate spending to support the trophy partner...

I'm slightly disturbed by the overall price tag, but I am fully bothered with how they paid for it which was not entirely on the up and up. Michelle Obama shops at Ann Taylor and White House Black Market, and she looks fab. Is there really a need for 3-5k per suit for Sarah Palin? Im sure a tailored $800 suite would have looked just as nice on her.

And who exactly will these 3k suits be donated to? Someone living at the poverty level? Ok..... that makes sense.

And once they donate these suits when the campaign is over, what is she going to wear if she gets elected? Back to her track pants from Costco?

Since Stephen wasn't clear that second set of numbers are McCain's. That's an FYI for those who don't like clicking on links.

Wasn't there a Seinfeld episode where his pirate shirts that he refused to wear were donated and some homeless guys were walking around in their fancy new pirate shirts with poofy arms? This sounds just like that and nearly as funny.
