I bet he makes a lot more then he would on government assistance.
You can make quite a bit delivering pizza full time or part time - I did it when I first got married. Quick cash side job.
So you want pizza joints to pay more? Are you willing to pay more for the pizza? When wages go up so do the cost of goods, and then people may make more but it doesn't go as far.

Did anyone listen to Fresh Air with Terry Gross last night?
The first part of her show was with David Iglesias, one of the AG's who was fired by the Bush Administration because he did not pursue voter 'fraud' vigorously enough for the Republican party. He talks a lot about Acorn in it. The people who work for them are paid by name so even if they sign up your dog, they get paid. More to the point, he was pressured to investigate and prosecute in a 2006 October surprise and didn't because there wasn't enough there. There should have been rioting in the streets about this abuse of power by the Repubs, but there wasnt.

The rest of it talks about voter intimidation by people who are targeting predominantely low income, Democratic areas. It's worth a listen.

Leaving aside the pizza argument for the moment - there's a fundamental problem with paying people to register new voters when you pay by the head. Of course they're going to ask people who are already registered to register again.
But that's no different than my being an airhead and submitting a new voter registration when I'm already on the rolls. Isn't it the BoE's job to manage the voter database? If I submit 10 different registrations for my address/phone number, there should be constraints in the system to prevent my being entered as a duplicate. We have the technology to make sure that every person is in the system once, and at their current address. Why that isn't a priority for the Sec of State is beyond me.
As for the 'fraud' perpetrated by obviously false names - well, you'd have to catch people showing up trying to vote as "Donald Duck" to prove there was actual malicious intent to subvert the democratic process, wouldn't you?

I haven't had Dominos for years. There is so much better pizza around (Dewey's is awesome).
It would be nice if the D’s and R’s take their respective rose-colored glasses off for once. There’s enough mudslinging on both sides to fill in Rocky River Metroparks. It all depends on which side you’re on.
I do agree with Ryan...there are more haters on the left.

I guess I should qualify that more haters on the far left. An unscientific observation on my part over the last 10-15 years. How many times have you talked with people about R vs D and objectively observed their reaction? You talk to libs about Rs and there is this Jeckle/Hyde conversion where you can actually see the rage coming through. You don’t get that when you talk to Rs about Ds.
It’s like the OSU/Michigan rivalry….their are more OSU fans that are rabid haters of UM than vice versa.

If that is the best example of hate on the right I think you proved my point.
Thank you.
Danielle,
I think most conservatives think that liberals are wrong, misguided and just not seeing the facts, while liberals see conservatives and evil selfish idiots.
To me that is why I said there are more haters on the left.
There are idiots on both sides that say hateful things, but I just think that the majority of it comes from the left.
Thank you.

Ryan I'm not criticizing the pizza shops. I used to be friends with a woman who owned her own shop and I definitely learned a lot. She ran an award winning shop.
One of my exes grew up working in pizza shops. It was her sister that had her own, she taught her sister how to make pizza.
I wasn't criticizing the pay scales (which not everyone is a delivery driver). I was criticizing decisions that corporate entities have made with their profits and I won't contribute to those.
Do you really understand what is behind boycotting companies?
I won't spend my money for it to go to causes and beliefs I'm opposed to. I'd rather spend my measly few dollars with a company that doesn't do that.
Simple.

What did Obama know and when did he know it? Wouldn't you rather find out before the election?
