Do you know the history of the women's movement Valerie?
Maybe they do help now. Maybe it's because I was part of the movement that changed some things, I still know how many things haven't changed.
, I know my son's are equally partners in all aspects of their relationiship, guess what generation raised the young men who do?
And the assumption that I have money and a formal education, don't know what's going on in the real world is ludicrous.
Frankly Callantine wanted to chastise me with his credentials about the "real" world. In case you didn't get it, I was trying to explain to the young man who he was talking too?
By the way, I've seen you flash your credentials around the board, guess what, those are mine.

Not for nothing, Sharon, but I cannot blame him for being hostile. You have seemed very condescending and patronizing in this thread. You're complaining about HIM assuming things about you when you basically did the same thing here. I don't see where you are getting this moral high road here and the "I was poorer than you" argument is just... well, kinda ridiculous.
I think if we are going to call it, there were a lot more personal attacks on Sharon as an individual, pretty strong attacks, in response to some generalizations on men. My husband shops, does dishes, vacuums, and is involved with the kids, so if the "stereo-type" offends Brett, than addressing that without going where he went would seem to be heard more effectively. As awful as the global section can be to read because of high emotions during an incredibly horrible time for the entire country-starting with us being at war which is much more difficult to deal with than gas prices for some-but this thread is even too ugly to justify those emotions.
I don't get the original post Stephen so maybe you can elaborate, and hope the vicious personal attacks stay out.

Are you referring to me with the last sentence? I'm alittle confuzzled here.
Trust me, I deal with what's changed and what hasn't. I work in a primarily male dominated field and I am one of only two women here who have kids and work full time plus. And I do know the history of the women's movement.
I still do not see, however, how that allows you to minimize people by calling them kiddos and telling them they don't have the life experience to qualify their responses.
Just sayin... TM stephen eisel

Valerie - start at the beginning of the thread.
First - the whole thing, I thought, was going to be Stephen and I. We have a long history and this is one of the things we do.
Bret jumped in there.
Frankly, I don't even know why you entered the fray.
I think Bret can handle himself.
Someday you and I will talk non-trad jobs.

I think that Brian's post says it best. My point was to show that the Dems need to get it together or become the Buffalo Bills of politics.Justine Cooper wrote:Valerie Molinski wrote:

Indeed, a few days later it was revealed that Cheney's chief of staff Lewis "Scooter" Libby was informed in advance that Halliburton was going to receive an earlier contract in the fall of 2002 -- to secretly plan post-war repair of Iraq's oil facilities. But being informed of a decision after it is made is a far cry from taking part in making it. And according to the White House, Libby didn't even pass on the information to Cheney anyway.

This wouldn't be a Republican site now would it? The fact the AMERICA'S VP could have ANY part EVER in a company making MILLIONS on REBUILDING a war that the VP had part in starting is sickening alone. Sickening and should be illegal in every single way. Let non-profit companies rebuild with NO MAN making money off of blood that we took part in shedding.

What year did Cheney take office as VP? What year did the US invade iraq?Justine Cooper wrote:Stephen Eisel wrote:http://www.factcheck.org/kerry_ad_falsely_accuses_cheney_on_halliburton.html

from FactCheck:To start, the $2 million figure is wrong. It is true that Cheney has received just under $2 million from Halliburton since his election, but nearly $1.6 million of that total was paid before Cheney actually took office on Jan. 20, 2001. Saying Cheney got that much "as vice president" is simply false.
