Dear Grace, when you go over there and see for yourself, you will know this to be true. Oh wait a minute, you use the NY Times as your know all/be all information on Iraq. Sorry, I am mistaken, keep drinking the kool aid.
By the way, the Mission Accomplished that you are talking of was the invasion and defeat of the Iraqi army and Saddam Hussein. Which was one of the greatest military victories of all time.
