For what it's worth, I stopped in at The Melt last Thursday to order take-out lunch. The place was packed. In fact, I had to wait about 25-minutes for my food. I'm not complaining about the wait but offer it as evidence of how busy the place was. I hope they are doing well during other days/times.
The only things smoking were the nice bar candles.

Not a bar, but the Shore has been compliant since the day after the election!

Well Sullivan's in NOT in compliance and therefore won't be getting anymore of my business. We left wonderfully complaint bela dubby because they were closing and went down the street. Needless to say my coat is now in the wash.

I just want to post a thank you to everyone that has reported on establishments here.
We are planning on going out this weekend and the places that WONT get our business are the ones who have sich disdain for the law that they will not be in compliance until they are forced.
That speaks volumes to me about business ethics and intergrity. Just bcauase you wont get in trouble, doesnt make it right or ethical to break the law.
A shame b/c before this - I had a lot of respect for some of these owners - particularly Sullivans.

Sullivan's must have just done an about-face, because we were there a few weeks ago, and it was very much smoke-free. And packed, too, so I can't see why they'd return to smoking.
oh well, eventually they'll have to be in compliance!

The Kenilworth Tavern is smoke free. Some people were outside smoking more than they were inside socializing. It was nice to arrive home and not smell like an ashtray.

I don't know if it was the time we were there, not that that should matter. It was pretty empty last night and we arrived at about 10 pm. All the same I was disappointed that it was smokey and won't go back.

To all in this thread. Just an FYI.
Now that the people of Ohio have joined the growing group of people more than happy to give their rights away, I hope you are all happy.
This was, and still should be an issue decided by the marketplace, NOT the government. When the State of Ohio decides to subsidize my losses, then, and only then should they be allowed to tell me how to run my business.
It's a sad day in the land of the (supposedly) free, when an adult cannot make up their own mind about how and where they wish to spend their free time and money.
If you do not wish to be around smoke or smokers there is an easy solution. Just GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Before this law was enacted there where more than 240 smoke free venues in NE Ohio. What, do you need them all?
Why you feel that your rights override mine is beyond me. A constant source of amazement.

That's about the most childish retort I've ever seen come from an adult. While I would respect disagreement and have done so here, you're post amounts to nothing more than a temper tantrum of someone who didn't get his way.
