a late night Curry and Kebob shop would be brilliant. I doubt there's any of those based in NY, more likely the UK.

Now a NY deli would be great as well. There's one category that we could only find one competitor for in our March Madness style tournament of eateries. Tina's is hard to beat.

Mr. Costa,

I couldn't agree more with broasted chicken.

Try FatBilly's on Madison and I think you will find what you are looking for. The location is where Angelo's used to be; Just west of Lucas Sunoco on the south side of Madison. This is across from the LHS football field.

Just so you know, my only financial interest in this business is the cash I leave there when I get more chicken. There used to be a spot on the north side of Madison just west of Alameda....name escapes me at the time... but I think it closed :(

Enjoy

Maybe you can back me on this one, but no one has filled the void left by Chicken Galore. My wife and I had looked at buying Chicken Galore before they closed and still wish we had. The broasted chicken was good, but the Ribs might have been the best on the Westside. No one has captured the flavor, texture or style.

Jim,

ABSOLUTELY!!! Chicken Galore was a once a week stop. I'm not a huge rib eater but my wife likes them and would agree with you. But as chicken went, I am slightly perturbed with you for reminding me of what I am missing.

Chicken Galore, sigh

I'm still intrigued to figure out what restaurant may be moving in. I don't think Applebee's, because Jim said it was a small chain with a location downtown. Applebee's ain't small, and I don't think they have a location downtown, as they opt primarily for the suburbs.

For awhile, I was thinking of Jimmy John's, a small chain of gourmet sub shops, which has a downtown restaurant, but they're out of Illinois, not New York.

How about at least a hint as to type of cuisine? Are we looking at a family-style restaurant, a steak place, Italian? Asian? A breakfast joint?

Wall Street Deli in downtown Cleve has been closed for many years.

Maybe they will put one at Edward Jones' Investments office in Lakewood? Didn't that location close? It is on Detroit downtown, I think.

Maybe Swingos will reincarnate itself into a reincarnated Watermark, that used to be in the flats?

Edward Jones is still there. The neighbor closed which was Flora Cafe. Thought about moving there myself. Stop in for an insurance policy while I make you a sandwich and cook up some onion rings.

Well, there was talk of Dave's scouting Lakewood locations...

But, they were started in Hudson, not NY...

Now thta it is a guessing game, let;s go into it one more time.

Competes with no one currently in Lakewood, and will make Mark happy.

The second the lease is signed, I will post.

see, it's tough because you said you thought the restaurant was based out of New York, and they currently have a location downtown. However, nearly every restaurant downtown is locally (or regionally) owned. There's very few "outside" restaurants, nearly all of them are owned by a local individual or a regional company.

Hey, as long as it has good food, that'd be a plus. It'd be nice to have some more asian cuisine options in town. Though when you think about it, there's some really nice options in terms of restaurant choices, between the 'Wood and River. And even Cracker Park, if one likes corporate-owned suburban chains!

competes with nothing in town, hmmm.....

Fondue?
Tapas?
The Soup Nazi?
Brazilian Steakhouse?
Italian? Peppers, Italian Creations and Maria's I suppose would feel that one.
Fish and Chips? ew, the return of Arthur's Treacher's?
Soul Food or BBQ? Oh is it Hot Sauce Williams or Whitmore's????

I'm hungry now. Off for some Kelbasi and sauerkraut... at home since I can't think of anyone that would serve that either.
