Really, it never dawned on him that “monitoring” social media of residents sounded rather ominous?

Problem is, Summers is exactly like Trump. He puts his foot in his mouth a lot, AND no one can tell him what to do - he knows best.

At 4:26 p.m. on Jan. 11, I note that those comments are still up. Just monitoring.

Dan

Check out the city Facebook page. Almost 130 comments about the blog post and Jen Pae’s fake community page. Note who jumps in to defend Pae

It’s so hysterical even their old friend at the Lakewood Citizen had to tweet a link to it!

What’s the most hysterical is that this was all started by Summers himself! What possessed him to write that blog post?

We have our own version of Trump in Lakewood!

Example of a Complaint to the ACLU

The subject of this Forum topic has been a problem for several years now and has been discussed previously in other posts.

For those of you interested in filing a complaint with the ACLU, here is an example of a complaint letter:

Dan

Actually we should be monitoring their employees, who are also our employees. That seems to be one of the real issues, Hiring, and leads into the cover-up.

I love how the sycophants are desperately trying to turn everything. "Of course they monitor social media..." In fact they monitor and censor and run social media schemes so that they can continue to mislead, confuse, cover-up, and hide facts from residents. Then run the media because they could no longer depend on media to print their BS and lies. Well once they made they own paper to run some false stories and lies down everyone's throats.

And it all came about because of the Mayor worries that we would never understand, what a great deal losing a $238 million dollar asset, turning public funds into private funds, and generally screwing our tax base up was good for everyone.

But they use them as a springboard to make sure our First Amendment in Lakewood remains under attack at City Hall.

Worst Mayor, Worst Law Director, Worst Finance Director, and insane sycophants in knee pads.

The Fundamental Issue At Risk

The fundamental issue at risk is free speech on issues of civic and public concern.

No local official or public employee has any right to delete comments from social media forums or to block users from making such comments when they relate to civic or public concerns.

Nor can any local official or public employee do so through third-parties, such as PR consultants or volunteers.

Such conduct is obnoxious to our constitutional rights and is actionable both in law and in equity.

To the extent that this is being done in Lakewood, the employees involved are creating expensive and unneeded legal risks for both themselves and for the City that employs them.

As I said elsewhere, this is a lawsuit waiting to happen, just like the public records debacle.

Please, No Distractions

Let us not be distracted by a blog entry on social media issues or a debate on this topic in the vapors of "cyberspace".

The real issue is the literal and on-going demolition of Lakewood Hospital.

Please drive by Detroit and Belle on a regular basis and be citizen witnesses to the destruction of crucial, heritage civic infrastructure that will not be replaced.

This is the historic legacy of the last two mayors of our city.

The other legacy is a sense of public trust destroyed.
